In The Beginning

Annwn slowly opened her eyes to the early morning rays of sun filtering into their hut.  It was over, and they were all that was left.
She  looked over at the fireplace, the fire was mere embers now, she needed to get it started for the day's bread making.  She could still see her mother standing there, baking bread, singing in her sweet soprano voice.  Annwn shook her head, clearing her vision and finished rising out of the warm bed, they were gone, her mother, father, and all her brothers.

She quickly plaited her thick hair back into its braids, and slipped her gown over her head. Thinking more about the past weeks and months she made her way over to the fireplace and stirred the embers, coaxing them into life.  From the bed a soft snore rose up,  "Osera, it's time you got your lazy self out of bed!"

She smiled as her husband rubbed the sleep from his own eyes, "Woman! I was up well past the moon's setting so you would have fish for our breakfast, leave a man sleep in peace!"  Still despite his grumblings, he slowly rose out of the bed, sitting down at their table to wait for his breakfast.

They had been married for almost a year now, but had not shared a true marriage bed. Marriage had been a necessity to their parents, when the numbers of Fae began to dwindle, they had arranged the ceremony before it was too late and their were no Priestess left.  The last one died a month after they were wed.

"Again, a warrior is only as good as his last hunt!" Akna looked over at her tiny son and mate, " I think he has had enough Andros, he is still a babe."  She heard the growl erupt from her mates throat and braced herself,

" I will say when it's enough!  You think that evil has ceased to exist? It is out there somewhere, and when it rears its head, our household will be prepared to pounce and deal the death blow!"  Akna was use to the displays of anger and strength, it was the way with her people, had her mate struck her, she would have struck back, and they would fight until they were too exhausted to move, after, they would mate to prove their bond.

Mating for her people would never be called making love, it was brutal, like most everything else involving Sabers, and yet both male and female enjoyed it immensely.

"Ayame, I have a gift for you my Shellan!"  Marrok peered into the cabin door and smiled as he saw her holding his son, she had gifted him with twins and had survived to raise them, a rarity in their race.

Twins were considered a bad Omen, and it was believed that with all twins one would choose good, and one evil, like their Twin Gods Moldar and Moldak.  Marrok didn't believe it, his boys were both good through and through and his Shellan and himself would make sure it stayed that way.

" Good Morning Hellran, what have you brought for me?"  Her smile lit up his heart and their cabin, how could one man be so full of blessings? She glowed with her round belly carrying his next child  "Rabbit  for our breakfast Love, already cleaned even!"

Ayame took the rabbit from him with a kiss barely brushing his lips and setting his groin on fire. "Then I suppose I should get busy with them, don't you agree?"

Gabriel stood up from over the privy, "That was a breakfast wasted, I wonder when I should tell him our secret?"

She slowly walked over to the garden, her husband already busy weeding the plants and harvesting their produce.  He stood up as he saw her walk over, concern in his eyes.

"Are you alright?  Should you rest?"  She smiled at him, " I am fine Gideon, I am quite certain that resting is not going to help, not for another several moon cycles any way."

She watched his face as the realization of what she was trying to say slowly washed over him.  "You are? We are? How? When?"  Her husband was adorable as he stuttered out his series of one word comments. " We are having a baby, yes, if you don't know how, well it's too late to explain now, I think in about 7 moon cycles."

Gideon ran over to his wife embracing her in his arms for a long passionate kiss, "Moldar be praised, he has blessed us with life again!"
